Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP) is reintroducing the MAP Scheme, giving customers a direct path to get metered through accredited vendors — alongside the free DISREP metering initiative for eligible households.

Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP) is rolling out FREE smart prepaid meters to eligible customers under the Distribution Sector Recovery Programme (DISREP) Metering Initiative—helping close the metering gap and putting an end to estimated billing.

After installation

Meter activation guidelines

Confirm your installation form, check vending activation, and find the pairing and balance-check details for your specific meter type.

Installation form

Sent automatically to the email address submitted during KYC, immediately after installation. The installer can add extra recipient emails before submission.

Vending activation

Enter your meter number on any available payment channel — if activated, your customer name should be returned.

Meters ship with preloaded units; the value is deducted at first vending, or across subsequent vends.

Loading a token

  1. Ensure your meter is connected to a power supply (the power LED should be on).
  2. Ensure your CIU is paired and communicating with the meter.
  3. Load the 20-digit token you purchased.
