1) Further to the declaration of a strike action by the Organized Labour; the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), effective 12:00am, June 3rd, 2024, as communicated in the mainstream media by the leadership of the organized labour and as confirmed by the Spokesperson of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Ms. Ndidi Mbah, on June 3rd, 2024,

2) Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP) wishes to notify the general public that there has been no load allocation to Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP) across its trading interface points with TCN since 12:01am June 3rd 2024, which severely undermines EKEDP’s ability to deliver power utility services to its esteemed customers.

3) Consequently, EKEDP wishes to declare a Force Majeure (FM) event due to the on-going nationwide strike action, until the restoration of transmission services to all its 33kV feeders radiating from all the twelve (12) TCN load centres serving EKEDP.
